This is new for me - I'm still learning how to function as a blogger. I am generally rather 'wordy' so I will learn to keep my writing under control.
I suppose I will open my blog with a post of new beginnings - some pictures of my new garden. I am so thrilled to have my new raised bed garden - I have struggled over the last 3 years with managing my regular garden, planted in the ground. We have somewhat unusual weather here, we have what we have lovingly termed 'monsoon season' which is immediatly followed by extreme heat and dry conditions. Weeding... well, it's nuts! You either sink in mud or break the weed off at the ground level. Well - enough of those struggles - hopefully they are behind me now!

I have made my visit to my favorite local greenhouse, Marshfield Greenhouse, and purchased my plants. This year we will have broccoli, cabbage (red and green), cantaloupe, carrots, cucumbers, green beans, lettuce, onions (white, red, and yellow), peppers (green, yellow, and orange bell, sweet banana, and hungarian wax), squash (yellow straightneck and zucchini), tomatoes (cherry, brandywine, tasty sauce, roma, italian potato leafed, lemonboy, and better boy), and last but not least, watermelon. I am very excited and hope to have an excellent crop this year!
